Hippo
Hippo is Lucia's self-proclaimed guardian. He is sent by the North Pacific kingdom in order to be a guardian to Lucia and steer the young princess in the right direction. Although he may appear harmless, there is more to his existence...Being a guardian, Hippo can seem relatively crabby. He will constantly scold Lucia for her brash, irrational decisions (such as her love interest), saying that she should start being serious about life and take on her role as mermaid princess. Through his harsh words, Hippo really does care for Lucia - he wants her to be happy and do the right things. Lucia too cares for Hippo, despite her relatively easygoing attitude towards him.
